Shiish Kebabs is the brainchild of Karim, a French-Algerian chef and entrepreneur who has called Australia home for 13 years. Karim is no stranger to Perth’s food scene. He previously introduced cronuts to Fremantle with his shop, Belle K, and led the ice cream roll-up phenomenon in Perth. He also runs the beloved crepe food truck business, La Crepe De Paris, which has delighted taste buds across the city for over a decade.

For Shiish Kebabs, Karim has taken inspiration from Europe’s gourmet kebab culture, where these delicious meals are much more than a late-night snack – they’re a flavorful, fresh experience. Having honed his skills working with some of the top kebab spots in Germany, Karim promises to offer something truly unique to Perth’s food scene.

“In Europe, kebabs are not just a quick bite – they’re gourmet. It’s all about fresh veggies, quality meat with the perfect marinade, and fresh bread,” says Karim.

And speaking of bread, the Berliner-style crispy bread used for the kebabs at Shiish is a culinary experience on its own, freshly baked daily and toasted twice for the perfect crunch.

Beyond kebabs, Shiish Kebabs will introduce Perth to another European sensation: the French Taco. This is not your ordinary taco. With homemade cheesy sauce and an array of fillings, French tacos have taken France by storm, even surpassing McDonald’s in popularity! Now, Karim is ready to make them Perth’s new obsession.
