Word Of Mouth Agency collaborated with R U OK? on a custom Instagram AR Filter for their 2022 theme/focus. The filter showcase a variety of different work industries and ends with the statement of having ‘No Qualifications Needed’ for being an expert in asking R U OK?
R U OK? is a harm prevention charity that encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times in their lives. Their work focuses on building the motivation, confidence and skills of the help-giver – the person who can have a meaningful conversation with someone who is struggling with life.
Needing a custom Instagram AR Filter for R U OK? Day 2022, our graphic design and web teams worked together to develop a filter from scratch using the Meta Spark AR platform.
Our team conceptualised and designed each frame of the filter, animating it in 2D before applying face recognition technology. To ensure the best functionality and usability we test all face shapes and angles in Spark AR, with different options that would trigger the filer – taping the screen, blinking, smiling, and auto-play.
Once finalised and approved by the client, we submitted the filter to Instagram.
The Instagram AR Filter final was a 2D face filter animation. Created to promote awareness of the 2022 R U OK? Day, over 75,000k people used and posted the filter over a 7-day period.
